Lead Electrician
Job Summary:
BluePrint Electrical Co is seeking an experienced Lead Electrician to oversee and perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to manage projects, crews, and client relationships effectively. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work in occupied spaces in Class A buildings, creating two suites out of one suite and separating circuitry accordingly. This role requires ensuring that all electrical work meets safety codes, industry standards, and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee electrical projects in commercial buildings, ensuring timely and high-quality work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installations.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
- Supervise and mentor electricians and apprentices, delegating tasks and ensuring efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify issues and verify system integrity.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and progress reports.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings without compromising quality.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a commercial electrician, with leadership experience preferred.
- Education & Certification:
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License Preferred, but not required
- OSHA certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, including low and high-voltage wiring, conduit bending, panels, and transformers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools specific to the trade.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose electrical problems efficiently.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various commercial environments, including offices, retail stores, warehouses, and construction sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, and travel to job sites as needed.
